Decatur FC Adds Isabel Massa to Coaching Staff Ahead of 2025 Season
Decatur, GA – March 26, 2025 – Decatur FC, the women’s semi-pro soccer team based in Decatur, Georgia, is excited to announce the addition of Isabel Massa as assistant coach ahead of the 2025 season. A native of Caracas, Venezuela, Massa brings international playing experience and a dynamic coaching philosophy to a team aiming to build on its record-setting inaugural year.
Massa’s résumé includes time with the Venezuelan U-17 National Team, a standout collegiate career at Clayton State University—where she served as team captain for over two years—and a return to her alma mater as an assistant coach for the past 3 seasons. Her passion for the game and focus on player-centered development make her a strong addition to Decatur FC’s coaching staff.
Returning Head Coach Campbell Chapman is enthusiastic about his new hire. “What struck me about Isabel is how thoughtful and intentional she is with her coaching,” Chapman said. “She sees the game in a way that encourages growth, confidence, and creative play. She’ll be a
massive asset to our staff.”

Coaching Philosophy
Massa emphasizes a style that prioritizes player autonomy and adaptability, believing in letting athletes take ownership of their game. “The way I coach is the way I see the game,” she explained. “I don’t like to micromanage. At this level, every player is unique—athletically, technically, and tactically. My job is to help them bring their best selves to the system we play, not force them into a box.”
Connecting with the Community
Off the field, Massa is already looking forward to becoming a visible and active part of the Decatur community. “The support for this team is something special,” Massa said. “I’m excited to engage with fans, give back where I can, and represent a club that’s doing it the right way.”
2025 Season Information
Decatur FC will kick off its second season in May 2025 with five home matches at Decatur High School Stadium. After earning Franchise of the Year honors and setting the top two all-time attendance records in the Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL) during its debut season,
